Overview

In August 2023, XFrame delivered 24 rooms and over 720m2 of demountable, low-carbon and reconfigurable spaces for ANZ's new head office in Adelaide.

The vision for the new Adelaide office was to create a sustainable, inclusive, and engaging environment that is adaptable to the evolving needs of the business, while also reflecting ANZ’s core values and purpose. This workplace aims to be a place where both staff and customers feel welcome and inspired.

Working alongside the client's representatives and Architects (Woods Bagot) we translated ANZ's retail kit-of-parts into a corporate office space designed for the future.

XFrame's on site delivery speed and value-add circular design support allowed this project, run over six weeks, to be delivered on-time. 240 wall panels were installed across four days by a team of six trades people. Prefabricated Tasmanian Oak Veneer and Autex Cube linings were clipped to the wall frames in XFrame's first large-scale deployment of the XF010 demountable lining clip, and DBSORB's ReadyClip system.

Unlike conventional "room-in-room" demountable spaces, the XFrame system used at 83 Pirie Street unlocked efficiency, design versatility, and a sense of permanence. At the same time, it enabled end-of-life recovery. Spaces were nested together using a tartan-grid planning scheme, allowing walls and services to be shared. This resulted in highly efficient material utilisation and significantly reduced assembly times.

XFrame was used to create all spaces outside the core, including kitchens, multi-faith spaces, parents' rooms, and reconfigurable boardrooms. Straight XFrame wall sections were also deployed across the floorplate, independent of the room clusters. These elements created semi-private breakout and collaboration spaces throughout the workplace.
