Flood-resilient retail fit-out.
As we face more extreme weather events it is vital that we put in place resilient physical infrastructure. Buildings that can be more easily repaired after flooding make it possible for communities to recover more quickly.
The town of Lismore has been impacted multiple times in recent years by significant flooding. In 2022 flood water within the CBD reached over 2m in height.
In early 2023, XFrame was engaged to prepare a proposal for a flood resilient fit-out for ANZ's Lismore store. Using our propriety modular framing technology we created internal wall panels from marine grade FSC Certified Hoop Pine ply capable of being submerged for up to 72 hours. Wall finishes were formed from the same marine grade hoop pine.
XFrame's unique 'open-panel' demountable design makes post-flooding-event clean-up viable. In the event of a flood, linings can be easily clipped off and cleaned, while the frame is first washed down, and then left to dry. Weep holes throughout the bottom plate, and in horizontal any blocking assists with accelerated drying.
